St. Andrew’s School is an independent college preparatory, coeducational boarding and day school dedicated to academic excellence and personal achievement for grades 6 – 12 and Postgraduate (PG), with the boarding program starting in the ninth grade. The School is located on a picturesque 100-acre campus in Barrington, Rhode Island, a suburban community 10 miles southeast of Providence on Narragansett Bay. Its proximity to Providence and Newport, as well as Boston, offers a wide variety of cultural opportunities for students.
Since 1893, St. Andrew’s has intentionally been a small school with classes of 10 to 12 students. We understand each student approaches material in varied ways and we provide differentiated teaching that celebrates individual learning styles in a highly supportive environment. 30% of our student body includes learners with dyslexia, language-based learning disabilities (LBLD), attention deficits (ADD/ADHD), organizational or executive functioning challenges, and other learning differences, such as school-related anxiety.
We welcome all faiths, we are proud of our diversity, and we strive to provide financial aid to those who need it. Our students are encouraged to be themselves and try out who they are through arts, athletics, academics, and activities. The result is confident, curious, and creative young people prepared for college and life, and they know how to negotiate any room and can navigate the world.
